Description
Would you like to contribute to a more inclusive university for students with support needs?
Horizon is looking for two student assistants to join our team starting August 2025.
About Horizon
Horizon is the central information point for studying with a support need, for example due to ADHD, a chronic illness, or psychological challenges. It is staffed by the student counsellors. We provide information, facilities, and guidance to both students and staff. Horizon also organises events to raise awareness and increase knowledge about studying with a support need at TU Delft. We are looking for two student assistants, each with a different focus. However, there is overlap in the tasks, which means you will also work closely together as student assistants.
1. Student Assistant – Horizon’s First 100 Days Programme
Period: 1 August 2025 – 1 February 2026
Hours: 6 hours per week
For a new First 100 Days programme, we are looking for a student assistant to contribute to its design and implementation. This programme is aimed at first-year students with a support need and helps them get off to a good start at TU Delft.
Tasks include:
- Contributing ideas to shape the programme;
- Organising events or gatherings;
- Developing informational materials;
- Attending meetings on the programme’s progress and evaluation.
2. Student Assistant – Horizon & Student Buddy Programme
Period: 1 August 2025 – 31 July 2026 (evaluation after 6 months)
Hours: 8 hours per week
As a student assistant at Horizon, you help organise information activities and support the Student Buddy Programme. This programme matches students with a support need to fellow students for accessible, study-related peer support.
Tasks include:
- Informing (prospective) students, for example during the Owee;
- Preparing promotional materials (such as flyers and presentations);
- Matching Student Buddy pairs and supporting them throughout their contact;
- Keeping records and administration for the Student Buddy Programme;
- Supporting with the First 100 Days programme where needed.
Who are we looking for?
For both positions, we are looking for someone who:
- Will be a TU Delft student in the academic year 2025–2026
- Has experience with or a clear affinity for studying with a support need or disability
- Is creative and a strong communicator
- Can work independently as well as collaborate with fellow student assistants and student counsellors
- Handles sensitive information with care
- Is flexible and available for occasional events or outreach days
Motivation is more important to us than experience!
Interested?
Send your motivation letter (max 1 A4) and CV to horizon-esa@tudelft.nl by 19 June. Please mention in your motivation if you have a preference for one of the two positions, and briefly explain why.
Interviews will take place on 24 June. Our preference is to hold the interviews oncampus, but online is also possible.
